ABOUT US
Built upon the foundation of the apostles and the prophets,
Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone (Ephesians 2:20), we are a
Christian fellowship firmly attached to the Word of God. That is the reason
why we believe in the entire Holy Scriptures, the absolute
authority.
As the Bible teaches us, we believe in
one and only God
manifested in the flesh through Jesus the Messiah. We’ve been redeemed by
Him through His crucifixion and resurrection.
Indeed, Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other
name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Having the
assurance of this promise, we invite all men to take possession of their
salvation ; for by grace are ye
saved through faith, and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God (Ephesians
2:8).
Thus, in total agreement with the Scriptures, we teach anyone
who wants to please the Lord, to repent, be baptized in the Name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins and to receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).
Those who were
living with the Lord at that time practised and taught the plan of salvation
no other way than this one.
In addition to
that, is the will to walk
worthy of the Lord..., being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in
the knowledge of God (Colossians
1:10).
As an answer to Christ’s
statements found in Luke 24:47 according to which
repentance and remission of sins
should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem,
Peter, the
disciple, filled with the Spirit of truth, enjoined his audience, the day of
Pentecost, by these words to
: " Repent and be baptized,
every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins ;
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto
you, and to your children, and to all who are afar off, even as many as the
Lord our God shall call " (Acts 2:38-39).
The Church of God of Jerusalem
is the first assembly who activated the keys of the kingdom of heaven
through the apostle Peter. In te same manner and in accordance with the
original Church we believe in the two conditions set by the Lord to enter
into the kingdom of God : " unless a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God " (John 3:5).
In
the same manner, we don’t disregard the full manifestations of the spiritual
gifts. They are divinely given for common use (1 Corinthians 12:7). In this
perspective, we consider that the establishment of the fundamental
ministries are
for the perfecting of the saints
for the work of the ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ :
apostles,
prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers
(Ephesians 4:11-12).
Finally, the imminence of
Christ’s second coming
urges us to watch, pray, study the Word and above all announce it so that
some come back to the apostles’ teaching and others accept the Gospel of
peace.
In this way, we
strive to walk from sanctification to sanctification,
looking for that blessed hope : the revelation of the glory of Jesus
Christ, our great God and Saviour (Titus 2:13 Literal translation based
on the french Bible Semeur 2000).
